We have just learned that the School Board had their 2nd reading which includes recommendation to raise taxes.
School Board Member Phillip Bowers posted this:
" Your School Board voted 6 to 1 last night to raise school operating taxes. I was the only trustee opposed to the measure. I oppose a tax increase because we gained over $1 million in revenue just from economic growth. Additionally, we got $40 million from Federal Stimulus programs. We don't need a tax increase...
Just for comparison, the 2019 budget was $123 million. 2020 was $129 million, 2021 budget stands at $130million. The 2022 budget proposed that passed last night will raise spending to a whopping $136 million. A THIRTEEN MILLION DOLLAR INCREASE IN SPENDING IN JUST FOUR YEARS...
The final 3rd reading and passage of this $136 million is set for the morning of June 4that the school board meeting."
FOLKS WE MUST CALL ALL 6 OF THOSE WHO VOTED FOR THIS TAX INCREASE TODAY!
HERE'S THE LINK WITH ALL SIX OF THOSE BOARD MEMBERS WHO VOTED YES TO THIS TAXATION:
Here's link:
TELL THEM TO VOTE NO ON ANY TAX INCREASE AND LIVE WITHIN THEIR MEANS AS WE ALL HAVE TO!
Do it today!
