Pickens County is considering consolidating into one fire district which would most likely result in higher property taxes, but could potentially lower insurance rates.
To this, I propose the following ...
I pay more for gas because I live way out in the country. It actually takes more effort for the station to receive and transport the gas and the station has less business.
I don’t want everyone in the state to pay 2¢ more so I can pay 10¢ less. If I want cheaper gas, I get it when I’m out, I move, or find alternatives (Tesla).
Same with insurance.
If I want cheaper insurance, I consider that when I buy, build, or plan. Maybe I eliminate some costs to offset my higher insurance bill, maybe I can just afford it.
Everyone has to stop thinking like a socialist. Some people pay more, some pay less, most pay in between. That’s life!
