"Lawmakers and mayors aren’t the only ones ratcheting up the debate on gun control. Some big city police chiefs are also stepping into the political arena, lobbying for tighter controls that they and their officers would then enforce.

Take for instance San Diego Police Chief William Lansdowne, who in an interview last week called for tougher gun laws and clearly chafed at the influence the National Rifle Association has held for years over the national debate."

Martin To Vote Against Teachers Having Self Protection On School Property


South Carolina State Senator Larry Martin, representing Pickens County, has said that he plans to vote against a proposed bill to allow teachers to carry guns on campus.

He said concealed weapons permit training does not qualify teachers to be armed around a classroom full of students.
[The training at concealed weapons permit classes] is just not long enough for [teachers] to be experienced in handling a weapon in a trying circumstance that can develop in a school environment.”
Although taxpayers could foot some of the liability costs if law enforcement were to be negligent in a shooting, Martin says … 
“Taxpayers could be on the hook for that as well for any liability that resulted from allowing or permitting non-law enforcement officers to carry weapons." 
If the bill passes, it would remove the current law that bans guns from school property. 

School districts could decide whether to allow teachers with concealed weapons permits to carry guns.

Senator Martin thinks a better solution would be to provide State funding for school resource officers in elementary schools.

They Aren't Going To Take Our Guns, Hmmmm?

I believe in American’s right to bear arms … the fact is, the vast majority of gun owners are responsible … but I am also betting that a vast majority of gun owners agree that we should keep a small few from owning a high-capacity weapon of war.  
As a general principle, I believe that the Constitution confers an individual right to bear arms. But just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can’t constrain the exercise of that right, in the same way that we have a right to private property but local governments can establish zoning ordinances that determine how you can use it. 
I think we can provide common-sense approaches to the issue of illegal guns that are ending up on the streets. We can make sure that criminals don’t have guns in their hands. We can make certain that those who are mentally deranged are not getting a hold of handguns. We can trace guns that have been used in crimes to unscrupulous gun dealers that may be selling to straw purchasers and dumping them on the streets.

God, The Creator with a capital "G"



When debating the topics of whether open practice of religion should be in this place or that and using the first amendment to invoke any sort of a claim to a right, we often skip part of the preamble of the Declaration Of Independence which established this country's direction BEFORE the Constitution was written …

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government."

This action before the Pickens County school board is destructive to these ends - if followed through, we, the overwhelming majority, are being denied our right to acknowledge our Creator. Creator is spelled with a capital "C" in the preamble.

This action before you is denying me my life, my liberty, my pursuit of happiness. My life depends on my relationship with my Creator, spelled with a capital "C".

My liberty is granted to me and perfected by my relationship with my Creator, spelled with a capital "C".

My pursuit of happiness can only be everlasting with an everlasting Creator, spelled with a capital "C".

Let me read you the preamble of the Constitution …

"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

I know of no man that can provide me with a blessing. Only God, spelled with a capital "G" can bless me.

The word ordain according to dictionary.com means: (of God) to predestine. That's God spelled with a capital "G".

Our founding fathers wished for God, the Creator, to bless this country. They knew that ONLY God, spelled with a capital "G" could guide leaders.

Let me read you the pledge of allegiance …

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Please don't make any argument with us about what the pledge originally said. I go by what it says but moreso, by what it means.

The pledge reiterates what the Declaration and The Constitution say. We are one nation under God, that's God spelled with a capital "G". 

Only God, The Creator can provide something to all of us. Only God, the Creator can guide this country.

I am proud that you have an invocation before these meetings to ask God to guide you. 

I ask that you fight this to the end. I think the attendance at this meeting is evidence that resources are waiting ~ both financial and spiritual.

I ask that you countersue this organization for harassment and frivolous litigation and ask that not only are all legal expenses paid, but that our school buildings be paid off. These selfish, Godless troublemakers came here to potentially put this district in financial distress ~ for the sole purpose of their self gratifying antagonizing and GRANDSTANDING.

That's GRANDSTANDING ~ all capitals.

A Taliban Prisoner Earns The Right To Pray While We Stand To Lose The Same Right In Pickens County


According to this report (below) at CNN.COM, a Taliban prisoner has won legal right s to pray in prison even though it requires him getting special treatment and disrupts other prisoners.


Meanwhile, in Pickens County, the school board will face the Freedom From Religion Foundation ~ a group from Wisconsin that claims our rights to public prayer are a violation of the first amendment and a violation of the separation of Church and State.


The Freedom From Religion Foundation hints at legal action if the School District fails to take action on the matters before them by the end of January 2013.
“If they decide to continue with prayers then we’d have to examine whether there’s legal action or anything else that would need to be taken.”

What should have been a simple fix to the 2012 candidate filing snafu has gotten
unnecessarily complicated.

The only change needed was to require all candidates, challengers and
incumbents, to file their Statement of Economic Interest (SEI) the same way, and
require all SEI filing on-line (delete paper requirement).

Instead, the Senate wants to make the process more complicated for candidates.
Their latest version, which may receive final vote on Tuesday, makes the process
much more difficult for candidates to file, potentially limiting access to the
ballot. That is wrong.

The Senate took a simple process and turned it into a complicated three step
process. They want candidates to file their SEI on-line. That is good, but
instead of continuing to let candidates file everything else with the party of
their choice, they want the candidate to do part of the filing with the party
and part of it with the county elections director.

So, if the Senate version passes, candidates will have to do three things with
three different bodies instead of simply filing their SEI on-line and meeting
with chosen party to file everything else.


We do not need more steps in the process or more government involvement in our
primary. It is wrong to ask the candidate to meet with the party, then go to the
election commission, then file SEI on-line. Please contact your senator and ask
him or her to make the process simple and fair.

The 23 Executive Orders Concerning Gun Violence ...

The following is a list, provided by the White House, of executive actions President Obama plans to take to address gun violence.

1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.

4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.

6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.

7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.

8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).

9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.

10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.

11. Nominate an ATF director.

12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.

13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.

14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.

15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.

16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.

17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.

18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.

19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.

20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.

21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.

22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.

23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.

Wyoming To Pass "Anti-Gun Control" Bill / Penalize Feds With Imprisonment

Lawmakers in the state of Wyoming are proposing bills that would make it illegal to enforce any new federal gun control regulations:

The bill – HB0104 – states that “any federal law which attempts to ban a semi-automatic firearm or to limit the size of a magazine of a firearm or other limitation on firearms in this state shall be unenforceable in Wyoming.”

The bill is sponsored by eight Wyoming state representatives & two state senators.

If passed, the bill would declare any federal gun regulation created on or after January 1, 2013 to be unenforceable within the state and hand out imprisonment to those that DO try to enforce any such regulation in the State.

Lawmakers in other states are considering similar measures with the threat of an Obama executive order looming.

Farmers meet in Washington today to fight Monsanto

 On January 10, 2013 family farmers will enter a courtroom in Washington DC to take part in the appeal of OSGATA vs Monsanto et al, a court case filed to protect farmers from genetic trespass by Monsanto’s GMO seed, which contaminates organic and non-GMO farmer’s crops and opens them up to abusive lawsuits.

In the past two decades, Monsanto’s seed monopoly has grown so powerful that they control the genetics of nearly 90% of five major commodity crops including corn, soybeans, cotton, canola and sugar beets.

In many cases, farmers are forced to stop growing certain organic and conventional crops to avoid genetic contamination and potential lawsuits.

Between 1997 and 2010, Monsanto admits to filing 144 lawsuits against family farmers in the U.S., while settling another 700 out of court for undisclosed amounts.

Due to these aggressive lawsuits, Monsanto has created an atmosphere of fear in rural America and driven dozens of farmers into bankruptcy.

Congressman Jeff Duncan Speaks Out About Potential Obama Executive Order On Gun Control


Hey guys,

My phone has been blowing up with text messages from friends and supporters who saw NBC’s segment tonight featuring my statement on President Obama’s proposed gun grab.

For those of you who haven’t heard, Vice President Joe Biden announced today that the White House is considering an “executive order” on gun control. This means the President is huddling up with his lawyers, and plotting ways to restrict our second amendment freedoms by bypassing Congress altogether.

Not on my watch.

Our Founding Fathers never envisioned executive orders being used to restrict our Constitutional rights, and as I told the American people tonight, we live in a republic, not a dictatorship.

The gloves are off, and I look forward to fighting to defend the United States Constitution.

On facebook, people are already asking me what they can do to help. The first thing we need is prayer. Pray for our nation, that our leaders will see the wisdom of our Founding Fathers. Secondly, forward this message. Let your friends and family know where you stand on the second amendment. Remind them that we live in a republic, not a dictatorship.

District 3 Congressman Jeff Duncan Votes "NO" on Fiscal Cliff Deal



At what is considered a "beyond the last minute" deal for lawmakers, a "fiscal cliff deal" was passed on by the House and Senate of The United States at around 9PM on Tuesday night. The deal prevented taxes going up on almost 98% of Americans, extended unemployment benefits, but cut very little spending.

House of Representatives, District 3 Congressman Jeff Duncan (Which is inclusive of Pickens County) had this to say about his vote …
"I voted "no" on the Senate "compromise" on the fiscal cliff last night.

I am glad that the President and the Democrats have finally come to the realization that the Republican principal of lower taxes is the right thing for Americans. It is unfortunate that they still prescribe to the politics which are dividing Americans further - those of class envy and redistribution.

The American government spends too much. That is the bottom line.

Without drastic spending reductions and efforts to address our growing debt burden, there is a real likelihood that we could experience European-style defaults and inflation in the future. I cannot, and will not, in good conscious, support these redistribution, Occupy Wall Street style proposals that have been put forth by the Administration and the Senate. We must include spending reductions and real reform efforts if we are going to begin securing a brighter future for our children."
