Green Steps Training or Indoctrination?

_______________________________________

Green Steps Training or Indoctrination?

A recent article in The Easley Progress advertised a Green Steps program to be held at the Pickens County Museum of Art and History. This type of “green program” being offered is a direct result of the 1992 Earth Charter. My purpose in writing this editorial is to expose the true agenda behind the Earth Charter. There is nothing wrong with teaching kids to turn off the lights when they are not in use, or to dispose of trash appropriately. But the real target of all these “green” initiative programs and the Earth Charter is sustainability. Sustainability will lead to the end of private property rights, capitalism, free markets, and sovereignty.

The United Nations has embraced the Earth Charter as well as all major world governments. In order for everyone to accept a one world government it was necessary to provide a crisis to promote unity among all nations. What better way to unite all countries than a scare tactic that the planet Earth is in peril? On the outside the “green” movement sounds harmless. After all, no one is against clean air and water. But I urge you to research the Earth Charter. Here is the preamble to the Earth Charter: “We stand at a critical moment in Earth's history, a time when humanity must choose its future. As the world becomes increasingly interdependent and fragile, the future holds great peril and great promise. To move forward we must recognize that in the midst of a magnificent diversity of cultures and life forms we are one human family and one Earth community with a common destiny. We must join together to bring forth a sustainable global society founded on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice, and a culture of peace. Toward this end, it is imperative that we the peoples of Earth declare our responsibility to one another to the greater community of life and future generations.”

I was shocked to find out that Pickens Elementary is indeed a member of the “Green Schools” program of Green Steps. It is time parents know the truth behind the “green” agenda. This environmental green movement is a tool to manipulate our children into believing we need a one world government to “save the planet.” Children are bombarded from K-12 and even on through college that man is destroying “Mother Earth.” There is plenty of evidence the whole “Global Warming” theory is just that...a theory...not a fact. Why are our children being forced to believe this theory? It is my belief the “green agenda” is a sheep in wolves clothing. It is meant to indoctrinate our young children to become socialistic, liberal, progressive thinking adults.

Public schools and the Museum of Art and History are supported by your tax dollars. Do you want your tax dollars being used to indoctrinate your child to a value system which worships the Earth and not God? Do you want your tax dollars being used to indoctrinate your child?

I challenge you to research the Earth Charter and its United Nations companion Agenda 21. Call Pickens Elementary and ask about this “Green Schools” program.

Find out for yourself ...

  1. This article is totally misguided.

The Earth Charter does not call for Earth worship, nor does it disrespect any belief systems. The Earth Charter calls for an increased sense of interdependence and the recognition that we have responsibilities along with rights.

Why is it that groups like yours, that claim to believe in God, a Christian God, seem to feel so threatened whenever a social agenda is suggested that is right in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ? Did not Jesus teach compassion and understanding? Did he not preach peace and care? It seems to me that the perspective of groups such as yours is one of exclusive privilege, of superiority and entitlement. I'm certain that Jesus would be mightily disappointed in you, promoting what you promote in his name.

Here are some more words from the Earth Charter as an ending note:

...we must decide to live with a sense of universal responsibility, identifying ourselves with the whole Earth community as well as our local communities. We are at once citizens of different nations and of one world in which the local and global are linked. Everyone shares responsibility for the present and future well-being of the human family and the larger living world. The spirit of human solidarity and kinship with all life is strengthened when we live with reverence for the mystery of being, gratitude for the gift of life, and humility regarding the human place in nature.

  2. Whenever I try to make a point about what Jesus said, I usually try to quote him.

    And here's my "I'm rubber, you're glue comment" ...

It seems all of "you guys from groups like yours" always result to insulting our religious beliefs or our families. I'm certain Jesus didn't preach that.

Read Colossians 3:5-10 English Standard Version

  3. Being a Christian does not mean I have to tolerate evil. Jesus did not tolerate the money changers in the church. The first commandment states Thou shalt have no other Gods before me. The Earth Charter is placing the Earth in utmost reverence. American independence was defined upon the following basic truth: That freedom, life, liberty, property, is granted not by man, but from the Creator God (of the Bible), and it is government's primary responsibility is to defend those unalienable rights. Under the Earth Charter, Agenda 21 and sustainable development, public schools are being led by useful, tolerant idiots toward indoctrinating for the destruction of freedom. The Earth Charter is the means to justify destroying our American culture, history, beliefs, economic system. The One World advocates goal is to wash our God given rights from the minds of the next generation, under the guise of placing the planet Earth above man. God created the Earth and plants and animals but he created man to have dominion over the earth. We are to have good judgements concerning its care. However, I have yet to find a verse in the Bible that teaches us to be tolerant of evil. Sustainable development principles, as defined in the Earth Charter, are completely
antithetical to America and freedom. Johnnelle

First chapter of Genesis in some translations used to use the word dominion, now "rule over". But in chapter 2 a different tone emerges. In 2:15(NIV), "The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it." In the KJV and ASV he uses "dress it and to keep it", words that command our responsibility to keep things in good shape.

I want to have cleaner air and cleaner water for my kids. Why would you not want cleaner air and water for yours?

    Thank you,
    Bill

  6. Bill,
I do not have a problem with cleaner air and cleaner water. No one does. What I don't want is my God given right to property taken away. I suggest you research Agenda 21 and the origins of the Earth Charter and you will find that they are "using" our Christian nature to take care of the earth for their own agenda to take away private property rights as well as indoctrinate our children into believing in "Mother Earth." not God.
