Some years ago, at his inauguration, President John F. Kennedy said,
"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country."
What have you done lately for your country, state, county, or city?
Those that have attended Tea Parties have in effect stalled the Democratic party’s Marxist policies. Has your face been seen at one? Have you looked at the voting record of your county delegation, or do you believe that their voting record echoes the brochures that they mailed to you during the last election? By using property reassessment, a number of these gentlemen have raised the taxes on your home by an average of 500% the past 15-20 years, yet their brochures advertise that they aren’t in favor of raising taxes. The teacher’s and state employees retirement fund is underfunded by approximately $20 billion dollars. Who is going to pay for this? The State General Assembly has increased spending by 40% for the past three years! Your Pickens County Council and School Board have over collected $60 million dollars. The School Board is spending over $400 million dollars on new schools while violating our constitution numerous times. Oconee County was refunded over $30 million dollars by Duke Power, and the money was supposed to be refunded to the taxpayers. Was it ? If you had attended the County Council meetings or the School Board meetings, you would know the answer to these questions. The Conservatives of the Upstate have been inviting the candidates for Congress and the people in attendance have asked informed questions. Will you come on March 11 at 6:30 PM and meet with Representative Rex Rice, candidate for the House of Representatives in Washington, DC at the Blue Ridge Bible Church, 769 Belle Shoals Rd. Pickens, S.C. ? Will you try to save your country?
