As you can see from this link:
29 districts out of 103 districts have alternative schools. That's hardly a "mandate" that's being followed.
The money for this school STILL comes from the same per pupil supplement formula that the A.R. Lewis children were getting. The utilities and staff will be mostly the same costs. There is a "possibility" of up to $200,000 given to the district for the school but that will not even cover utilities and busing.
How can this school possibly be funded with less students if the formula is the same and the money wasn't there for the primary purpose of the school?
